Style & Shape at Sunday Best Boutique

On Wednesday 8th May I received a very special invitation to attend a 'Style &Shape' evening hosted at Sunday Best, an independent womenswear boutique in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. The night was designed to show women, whatever their shape, they can achieve any look they want to, with just a few style secrets. The talk was hosted by Jill Pollitt, a professional stylist whom has worked with Vivienne Westwood and stylists Gok Wan, This Morning & Britain & Ireland's Next top Model.

Be warned, this is a long post, there is so much to rave about at Sunday Best, that I don't want to leave anything out!

Sunday Best, established by  the wonderful Jan Shutt in 1971, have been welcoming the women of Britain for longer than I've been alive. Not only do they have a brand list to covet, but their impeccable personal styling service is second to none and has grown through years of nurturing and giving women what they want. The gorgeous team at Sunday Best know that not every woman is the same shape or size & they can match their customers perfectly to suit their needs.

Laboratory perfumes. Amber smells incredible!Very masculine a la Tom Ford.

Jan Shutt should be one very proud lady, Sunday Best has powered it's way to win numerous Drapers awards and The Telegraph 'Best Small Shops in Britain, Best for Women's Fashion' award in 2011. Sunday Best isn't just 'another' boutique. It is by far one of the most eclectic, vibrant and beautifully presented boutiques I have ever visited. And you know I like to shop! There were so many subtle, unique details throughout the store that it's hard to get this across in writing. Put it this way, there aren't many places in the world that supply the beautiful bird song of the Robin whilst you use the bathroom.....
The second floor is very cool and industrialised and was designed by the same people that designed the 'X-Factor' set.
I am in love with this Second Female shirt. I'm a sucker for the oversized shirt and I need this print! You can shop this shirt here

Just a couple of snaps from the beautifully chic bathroom.
Jan is quite possibly one of the most interesting people I have met in my life so far. She spoke passionately to me about her inspiration for the shop fit, details and the concept for the store. Anthropology heavily influences her design style, and a lot of the accents in store have been handmade. There's a chandelier (pictured above) up on the landing that is nothing short of exquisite, made from jam jars!

I cannot thank Sunday Best and the 17 strong team enough for last night, the store is beyond beautiful and I felt so lucky to be a part of last night's event.

As a thank you for being the blogger in attendance, Sunday Best have sent me a box of treats, so I will share them all with you once they arrive. I can't wait!
