Milan: A weekend in the city

A few weeks ago I headed to Milan for a weekend break. If you're seeking a little culture, a lot of shopping and some absolutely insane coffee, then you need this guide. I'd go back in a heart beat. The vibrance of the city and the nature of the Italians is too strong to keep me away for too long!

Where to stay:
Air bnb - Ricardo's place
Such a wonderful find. Large apartment with two bedrooms, minimal, cool and city chic! Ricardo is amazing too- super helpful and there for anything you may need. Located around 15 minutes out of the centre by subway.

Best pasta:
Drogheria Milanese
The food, as photographed, was beautiful. The service was excellent and we sat outside with plenty of champagne to celebrate a birthday. They even brought us some shots of Limocello to finish the meal.

Cocktails:
STK Milan and the ME hotel
We sat up on the rooftop bar with cocktails and a beautiful view. We went on a Saturday and didn't need to book, we just had to wait for around 30 minutes in the bar within the hotel. A little pricey but perfect for a special occasion.

Perfect coffee:
If you're staying at Ricardo's place, there are a handful of coffee shops come tobacco shops that serious do the best cup of coffee I've ver had. No frills, super cheap.

Shopping:
The coolest Dover Street Market style store ever. Brimming with your favourite designers, this high end haven had me captured for a long ol' time. There's a beautiful courtyard, as photographed, which was perfect for drinks and a light lunch, just at the back of the store. The amazing thing about this place though, is the art and design exhibition that is held just above the store and courtyard. It's an absolute treasure trove and such a wonderfully interesting thing to see.

Oh, and make sure you get some Gelato. It's far better than any words that I could write!

I hope this has been helpful to those of you thinking about booking that trip. Get it in the diary!
xx
