Party Face Ready

Tis' the season to PARTY. With a little help from Fragrance Direct, I want to share with you my top beauty products to get you through the party season with a fresh face.

Party
1. MAC in Lady Danger. A killer red lip goes a long way this time of year, it has the capacity to make you feel super dressed up and ready for action, even if you're not quite feeling it.
2. Bobbi Brown creamy concealer kit. An absolute hero product for me. Those tired eyes will give you away if you don't treat them with a little respect! Cover it up and make them beautiful and bright again with this super creamy brightening duo. Amazing results.
3. Clarins eye contour gel. This little gem will cool and soothe those eyes, making you feel party ready again. I always like to apply this in the morning and pre make-up, giving it enough time to dry before applying your eye concealer duo.
Post party
1. Bobbi Brown eye makeup remover. Lifesaving product right here. I never sleep in my makeup anymore, the troublesome skin the day after is just not worth it. Even when you're a little worse for wear, after having one too many glasses of prosecco...So I need a product thats going to get stubborn eye make up off and fast. Cue this Bobbi Brown genius.
2. Dermalogica concealing spot treatment. Party after party means making extra efforts with your makeup, whether thats heavier on the eyes, or topping up your foundation relentlessly in the loo, your skin suffers. I always find if I go heavy with the make up, I break out. This wonderful product by Dermalogica does two great things, the first is that it works as a concealer so that you can use it whilst you're mid knee slide at the  D I S C O and the second is that it contains spot fighting agents so it's working all the time. Win win.
I hope this has helped you out a little with your party face!Happy Christmas Eve!

Thank you so much for reading.

Autumn Essentials: Hero products

What an absolutely welcome treat it was when Fragrance Direct offered to send me out some bits to see me through the Autumn. Obviously, A/W comes as a bit of a shock to us all when only a few weeks ago we were bare legged and tanned, so I chose some 'feel good for Autumn' products that I thought might cheer me up!

I cannot rave about this enough, not only does my hair feel beautifully looked after with each wash, it smells absolutely incredible.
Tom Ford is one of my go-to's for that masculine fragrance, without crossing into territory of people thinking you've got your boyfriends aftershave on... This fragrance has a lightness to it so it remains feminine but absolutely not floral.
I can't say how well I've got on with this self tan, it smells good, doesn't streak and is not at all orange. It adds a subtle glow that takes the edge off if you're missing your Summer tan.

I'd love to know what hero products are seeing you through this Autumn.

Thanks so much for reading

Nip + Fab

Nip + Fab. Does exactly what it’s brand name suggests. Nips you in, makes you feel fabulous. I know, because I’ve now been using Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix and Dark Circle Fix for the past six weeks and I can really tell the difference in my usually sucky skin. I almost wish I had taken before and after photos so I could see the difference more clearly, but lets face it, nobody needs to see my naked face.

The Dark Circle Fix is a God send. I’ve been getting up for work at 5.30am, a very unforgiving time for eyes, and no amount of coffee has been helping me. Cue, Nip + Fab Dark Circle Fix. It goes on beautifully and tightens everything up just enough for me to feel human.

The Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix serum is once of the lightest, most satisfying serums I have ever used. I started to use it every morning and sometimes in the evening if my face felt a little dry after cleansing, but my skin is super sensitive and it didn't like that, cue break-outs! So I now apply every other day and it is wonderful. It sits well under make-up and leaves my skin feeling well looked after!

Shop Nip + Fab

I’m dying to try more Nip + Fab in the future and I’d love to know if you have any recommendations for me!

Thank you so much for reading...it's almost Friday!

Lee Stafford Big Fat Hair

The quest for volumous hair that’s the envy of everyone who looks your way is something that once seemed unattainable. I needed to let you know that I think the search is over, put down your search engines and just read this.

Lee Stafford has been around for a heck of a while, I used to buy the odd product from Boots with my Saturday job money at Miss Selfridge. It was pink in packaging, and I was 16, go figure.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a range of Lee Stafford 'Big Fat Hair' products to try and stick some va-va-voom back into my excuse for hair. I actually haven’t had results like this before. I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for the last 2.5 weeks now and it’s made my other volume enhancing products redundant. I don’t need to put anything else in my hair if I am wearing it straight; the roots are already beautifully lifted. The other product I do use, if I’m trying to get a bit more of an ‘undone’ feel (my life in a nutshell, undone) I pop a healthy spray of Sea Salt through the ends. Not only does it smell like a day at the beach, it actually gives the texture I so often crave! Joy!

Visit Lee's website and tailor your product to your hair HERE

I hope this has been helpful for those of you with finer, non-volumous hair and thank you so much for reading.

Better Skin with Magnitone Luicd

The lovely team at Magnitone kindly sent me the new Magnitone Lucid Fashion Series to try out. This little gadget promises a brighter, fresher and more healthier complexion within 7 days, and I completely agree. It uses Active Electromagnetic technology to exfoliate and deep cleanse your skin. My skin has been on a complete mission to make my life hell recently, and whilst the Magnitone didn't completely banish all of my spots, it certainly has helped. This little bundle of fun even comes with a wireless charger so it's super easy to throw in your bag on a weekend away. I'd really recommend using the Magnitone Lucid if you don't have much time to deal with your skin and are looking for fast results.

You can buy your own HERE

Good luck with healthy, happy skin!

Bourjois

The wonderful team over at Handpicked Media offered me the chance to work with and review a brand spanking new Bourjois mascara.
To say I'm sceptical about mascara that promises to transform my own, stubby, awful excuses for eyelashes into lust worthy, long flutters, would be an understatement. After 1 application, and I mean 1...not 1 sitting and 6 lashing of the stuff....my lashes were unrecognisable. The Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara is the one, the one I've been hunting for all of my mascara wearing life. I honestly couldn't recommend this mascara anymore if I tried. Obviously, this was a sample for me to try but as soon as I run out, I'll be buying it again.

Thanks for reading and I hope you take my advice to make your lashes incredible!
Have a great week.

The Bathory

Now I don't know about you, but I enjoy nothing more than a good bath. I've not always been a bather though, becasue I go at 100mph I've always felt baths were a waste of my time. Then I met David, my other half of now 6 years, who is so laid back, chilled, 'manyana' and baths every single night for at least 30 minutes, and he has changed my non-bathing habits completely. The wonderful team at The Bathory HQ sent me these incredible bathing salts that I could invent myself. I'd use these for a luxe little gift, perfect for birthdays.

First: Choose which kind of bath you want, I chose DETOX
Second: Choose one salt mix, I chose PURE EPSOM SALTS
Third: Choose 3 essential oils, I chose CHAMOMILE, LAVENDER & ROSEMARY

Then you're done! I can honestly tell you, I've never had a bath like it and the day I run out will be a sad day indeed.

Have a gorgeous week.

Must haves

The lovely girls at Pegasus PR were kind enough to send me a gorgeous bundle of products to try. My skin was crying out for some TLC and these two little gems have brought my skin back to life. In my job, I have to wash my hands so many times a day that I struggle to keep my hands moisturised. My face has been a little hormonal of late and super hard to control!
This beautiful body oil is light, smells divine and is one of the best nourishing products I have ever used. Especially on my hands at night! The aromatherapy element to the oil is lovely and relaxing so I always use before bed to help me drop off to sleep.
This bee venom Manuka Doctor face mask is absolutely incredible. I've been using it twice per week and my skin feels a million miles from where it was 4 weeks ago. I have combination skin and this mask helps to balance and keep pesky spots at bay. I'd really recommend this to anyone who needs to give their skin a good overhaul! You can pick it up in the larger Boots stores and it seems to last a good while as its a light paste and not a cream.

I hope this has helped some of you out!

Thank you so much for reading.

Beachy with GHD

The lovely team at GHD answered my beach hair prayers when they sent me this amazing pair on GHD Eclipse Tri-technology stylers. I didn't even think beach waves were possible with straighteners but wow....was I wrong. They are effortlessly easy to use and this look took me all of 10 minutes, max! Also, they don't pull your hair out, which I've found happens with other stylers. I popped a couple of messy plaits in the ends for good measure. I am mega impressed and happy with these babies!

Are you loving beachy hair?

Have a fab week ahead and don't forget you can still nominate my blog in the Company Style Blogger Awards HERE

Thank you so much

ASOS SS14 Beauty

The wonderful team at ASOS were kind enough to send me a beauty pack so I could get my hands on some of the most beautiful brands they will be stocking for SS14. As always, beautifully presented and filled with gorgeousness, ASOS have got me so excited for the new collections.
Brands include: NARS in "Heat Wave" , Too Faced lash injection & Pixi finishing powder.

I'm so excited to test these products out, especially the NARS lipstick. I'm such a sucker for a statement lip!

Thanks so much for reading & Happy Spring!

Hair bootcamp

Now I don't profess to be any kind of beauty blogger because I don't know the first thing about make-up technique or how to make my hair look incredible in one simple top knot...what I do know is that my hair usually feels pretty rubbish. After 11 years of colouring, my hair can feel quite dry and seriously lacks volume.

The lovely team at Louise Wood PR invited me to try out a new treatment at Partners Salon in Manchester and can I just say, my hair felt like somebody else's, it felt beautifully soft and there was hardly any visible breakage. The girls at LWPR also put together a little bag of hair treats for us and I don't think I'll ever use anything else!

They are all Schwarzkopf products, from the BonaCure range.
L-R
Sealed Ends- makes broken hair vanish
OSIS+ Hairspray- so perfect and non sticky that it's used widely on catwalk shows
Oil Miracle- spray, leave in conditioner that smells unreal and gives you the softest of locks

Above are photo's of my hair with it's natural (pretty straight) wave and then curls made with curling tongues. I can't tell you how much healthier my hair looks and feels - I run the risk of sounding like a TV advert here but seriously, if you struggle with dry, flyaway hair, you should invest in this product range!

I hope this will help some of you to banish your hair woes as we head into 2014.

Sunday edit

I love Sunday's. It's the one day in the week that remains without plans. I get time to read, think, catch up with family & friends & have a good shop online. I thought I'd share with you some of the things that have been going on in my life & in my head over the past couple of weeks. My Sunday Edit.

What would your Sunday edit include?
