Staycation: London

This one is for those of you planning a little London stay cation. Even though I live in London, there's always so much more to explore, so here's some of my best bits.

Sleep:

The newest to the Citizen M hotel family, this little gem couldn’t be more well situated for a weekend in London. Think affordable luxury and you’re there.  The Citizen M is one of my favourite hotels. It’s designed incredible well and is really workspace friendly too, but without that corporate feel…in fact, there’s nothing corporate about it. The rooms are small, but what they lack in size, they make up for in a seriously ‘teched out’, free films, mood lighting, streaming from your laptop and an ipad that controls the lot. The rooms boast the biggest, most comfortable bed I’ve ever stayed in., too, which is a big deal for me.
Breakfast is always gorgeous, full English or continental, they just do it so well.

Prices start from £139 per room per night.

Coffee:

I adore Grind. This was the first time I'd been to the Shoreditch one. We walked in and there was some old school R'n'B blaring out and it was such a great vibe. Coffee and brunch is amazing. Must go!
Eat, fancy:

STK are the business. I’ve been to the one in Milan and Las Vegas and they’re pretty fantastic. Perfect for a special occasion. Always get steak! The staff were incredible, and recommended the best sides and wine pairing. The atmosphere here is really upbeat, especially at the weekend.

Eat, reasonable:

What a restaurant this is. Incredible interior and a menu that’ll knock your socks off . Gorgeous British food that allows you to get stuck in to sharing plates or have a large main. As always, we ordered way too much and could barely walk afterwards…it was the crumble that got me. Staff are wonderful and super helpful too. Try the non-alcoholic lemonades….in addition to your wine of course!

Shop:
Redchurch Street

Head to Redchurch Street in Shoreditch and I promise you, you can’t go wrong. Mens and women’s shopping for the style conscious, and those looking for something that’s opposite to high street!
My favourite is Modern Society.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this little guide to some of my favourite London spots! If you have any other questions at all- please get in touch.

Where to stay in Lisbon: Baixa House

A couple of weeks ago I went to Lisbon in Portugal for the first time as part of a very exciting project with Alcatel. Lucky, I know! I was trying to figure out where I would love to stay, somewhere close to be able to explore a great part of the city, somewhere that I could photograph really well and somewhere I could recommend to you guys wholeheartedly when I came home. Now I don't mean to brag, but well, yes I do….Baixa House is categorically the most incredible place I have ever had the pleasure of calling home for the weekend. I don't even know where to begin.

From the very first string of email communication I knew that the owners and curators of this extraordinary place would make me feel like it was home. It's a refurbished 18th Century building with the highest ceilings and most enchanting interior. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor, fully equipped with spiral staircase (as well as a lift, I took the lift!). The interior was cool, minimal and a beautiful nod to Portuguese heritage.

Inside the apartment there is everything you could need. A roof terrace for breakfast, somewhere to play your music and a bathroom fit for at least 5 women to comfortably do their make up! Each morning we woke up to a bag of fresh bread hanging on our door and a fridge with tasty breakfast treats inside.

It's such an incredible location too, we walked everywhere and saw so much of the city. It's absolutely the perfect location whether you have, or haven't been to Lisbon before. The owners are so wonderful too, they couldn't do enough for us. They suggested places to visit and things to do, which were all perfect for us. There's also a book in each room where previous guests have written their recommendations down, so that can be super helpful too.

I don't think I could recommend a place to stay more than at Baixa House. It was honestly like home from home and I'll absolutely be heading back there soon.

You can make a booking by emailing the team on info@baixahouse.com and follow the guys on Instagram @baixahouse for more incredible interior!

Thank you so much for reading and do let me know if you're going!

Exploring Lisbon with the Alcatel POP 4

My Summer has been a whirl wind of travel so far, and I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to visit so much of Europe. I always forget just how incredible it is to live in the UK and have so many beautiful places just a two hour flight away.
This weekend I flew off to Lisbon, Portugal with Alcatel and their new POP 4 handset in tow to capture my trip, and to tell you about the amazing European flight offer for customers who purchase the handset in July and August! You can choose one of 8 European destinations, how amazing is that!?

I don't think I've ever visited any European city and fallen in love so quickly. Lisbon is a hub of culture, incredible food, vibrance and beautiful views, and the night life isn't bad either.
I've put together a guide to your weekend in Lisbon, because if like me, you've never been before, this is one you're going to need to tick off that list of yours!

Stay:
An absolutely stunning block of 18th century apartments with interior that'll send Pinterest into a frenzy and owners who are so helpful you feel like a local within minutes of setting foot through the oversized white doors. The location of it couldn't be more perfect either. I'll write up a full review for you later this week.

Eat:
Cervejaria Ramiro
Dubbed as the best seafood restaurant in Lisbon this place didn't disappoint, brimming with locals and families, the service was quick and the food incredible.

The Leopold Restaurant pop-up at Baixa House. A 6 course menu complete with wine in a beautiful, relaxed apartment setting, with places for up to 10 people. Running through until September. Email Baixa House for reservations.

Drink:
An old car park converted into a roof top bar that has an elaborate cocktail menu and such amazing views! I went to watch the sunset and it was absolutely beautiful.

Visit:
A tourist attraction that you cannot miss. The elevator takes you to the top of the city and the views couldn't be more perfect.

Swim:
Lisbon is a city, and of course there are plenty of hotels, but only two that boast a roof top pool.
I headed to the NH Collection Lisboa Liberdade Hotel to cool off in the 33 degree heat! The pool is fairly big, there's a bar, food menu and sun loungers. The view is also pretty special.

Cheesecake:
Head to the Lx Factory to LXeeseCake.
The lemon meringue cheesecake is well worth a trip to this industrial estate come collaborative boutique hub.

The Alcatel POP 4 handset was such a welcome companion on my trip, super easy to use, I navigated my way around the city with it and took some beautiful shots with its incredible camera. As i mentioned earlier, one of the best things about this handset is that if you buy it in July and August, you can bag yourself return flights to one of 8 European destinations, have a read about it here. So there really is no excuse not to visit Lisbon with your very own Alcatel POP 4!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed discovering Lisbon with me!
