Drop waists and pinstripes

Hello 2016! I hope you all had the best Christmas and New Year's Eve. We spend so long anticipating   this time of year and it seems to pass us by in a flash. I had the best time but I'm kind of ready to resume to normal life now, including four very wonderful days of work to recuperate!

Last week I went for a post Christmas catch up with one of my closet girls, Lauren (Lozza to me). We    shot this look and then proceeded to eat too much cheese. I mean we were both pretty poorly afterwards. But I'd do it all again in the name of cheese.

I've been living in this drop waist dress from ASOS White, and I've come to conclude that drop waists are a tall girls best friend. Super flattering, black, with a v neck and crimped edges, scoring lots of lazy girl points for me.

My Daniel Wellington watch hasn't left my wrist since it arrived. You can't go wrong when its silver paired with black leather, it literally compliments everything. Especially a lot of my jewellery. When I went back to work after Christmas I felt all kinds of naked without it.
The leather strap is incredible, I adore the crocodile effect. You can shop my watch with 15% off when you enter "DWRopesofholland" at the checkout! You're welcome!

This pinstripe wonder is also by ASOS and has travelled all over with me recently. The stand up collar is what I like most about it, and the contrast of the grey with the navy blue. Amazing.

So my obsession with Missoma jewellery isn't coming to come to an end any time soon and my favourite pieces are firmly around my neck and wrist. They very rarely come off and have worn so well.

As usual I'm wearing my favourite bag ever, by Anya Hindmarch  which is now back in stock! And my very special, metallic shoes are the Adriana trainers by Acne, which I cannot stop wearing. To be honest for the first few wears my feet were screaming, but now I've worn them in, they're perfect.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm spending mine with my other half, family and cups of tea.

The Missoma ring edit

Wearing jewellery is something that I feel makes me who I am. It's a way I express my style and I always hold such sentiment to each piece I wear. For those of you who don't wear much jewellery, whether thats because you never have done or because you don't know how to, I teamed up with the wonderful team at Missoma to bring you a ring stacking edit to show you the ways to wear your rings. The rest of the jewellery featured here is actually Missoma too.... So I'll link it all at the end (I have a slight Missoma obsession).

The first part of the edit is based around a day time look. Coffee with friends, shopping and generally cool but effortless.

Shop the daytime edit:
Gold double horn ring
Gold triple horn ring
Silver double horn ring
Gold bolt ring with rainbow moonstone
Gold evil eye charm bracelet

The second instalment brings you ways to wear your rings into night time. I was on my way out to eat at the fanciest restaurant I'd ever been to, followed by cocktails, so I upped my ring game significantly!

How do you wear your rings, are you a natural when it comes to stacking?

Thank you so much for reading, it means so much that you take the time to pop back.

The perfect winter coat

French brand La Redoute are making waves in all the right places recently. I'm very lucky to be working with them on a few style edits where I've chosen my top pieces and first off, is this absolutely incredible coat. This piece was the end result of a collaboration with French Designer Coralie Marabelle.
A few amazing points:
The cut and fit of it is so spot on
Its wool (think WARMTH!)
The colour is beautiful for the winter, instead of black. Its kind of nude with the tiniest hint of pink, making it such an easy neutral colour to wear with all of your winter layers.

*My friend has already bought it after seeing it on me and there's currently £100 off!

I'm wearing a black simple ribbed jumper dress and trainers for a simple, casual but very warm look. The dress is another piece from the This is Welcome SS16 drop, which will be available in February. In case you can't wait until then...I've popped a similar alternative down for you to shop.

Shop my look:
La Redoute x Coralie Marabelle wool coat
Ribbed high neck dress by This is Welcome, similar here at Monki
Anya Hindmarch bag
Missoma x Lucy Williams dagger necklace
adidas Stan Smith trainers

Tall girl flares

I never thought I would find a pair of flares that I'd consider wearing. I couldn't see how they would work for me and my style, but here I am feeling right at home in this incredible pair, I just had to make them work for me. This particular pair are by one of my new found favourite brands This is Welcome. They are part of the SS16 line so aren't out just yet....but hold on until February and you can get your hands on a pair! To make them feel less 70's trend and more casual, I popped on my And Other Stories slouchy shirt and tucked it in, undid a few buttons so you could see my beautiful Missoma Jewellery pieces and threw on trainers and Emma Hill's jacket...because I was frozen, soaked from the rain and had forgotten my own black jacket!
I love this look so much, I found it to be a cool, relaxed nod to the 70's trend without having to conform to a 'trend'.

You can shop my look here:
And Other Stories shirt
Wide leg jeans, similar at ASOS
Double breasted jacket, Zara, similar Mango
Anya Hindmarch bag
Missoma initial necklace
Missoma x Lucy Williams dagger necklace

Keeping it simple

Today's post is a snappy one. I just wanted to check in and pop up one outfit that I can't get enough of at the moment. It must be all the bright colours you can see that makes it so desirable to me! Yes, clearly it's that.

My hybrid jumper x shirt is by an incredible designer named Sacai. Japanese and so talented, I'm so sold. My boyfriend introduced me to the brand as he works for Nike and Sacai have an unreal Nike collaboration that is also just perfect.
I'm such a sucker for keeping it casual, and I'm not about to change any time soon. These COS trousers are perfectly tailored but still give off a relaxed vibe, kind of like "I'm not trying too hard, but actually I've been planning this outfit for 3 hours".

These trainers are my new pride and joy, all the way from the US, Opening Ceremony just smash it for me. Minimal but cool and so different to anything on the high street. And, they're in the sale, ship to the UK within 5 days. Joy!

Shop my look:

Jumper x shirt: Sacai
Cropped box trousers: COS
Trainers: Opening Ceremony
Bag: Aspinal of London via My bag
Bracelets: Missoma

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you're having a great start to the week.
As always, I would love to read your feedback!
