Autumn Essentials: Hero products

What an absolutely welcome treat it was when Fragrance Direct offered to send me out some bits to see me through the Autumn. Obviously, A/W comes as a bit of a shock to us all when only a few weeks ago we were bare legged and tanned, so I chose some 'feel good for Autumn' products that I thought might cheer me up!

I cannot rave about this enough, not only does my hair feel beautifully looked after with each wash, it smells absolutely incredible.
Tom Ford is one of my go-to's for that masculine fragrance, without crossing into territory of people thinking you've got your boyfriends aftershave on... This fragrance has a lightness to it so it remains feminine but absolutely not floral.
I can't say how well I've got on with this self tan, it smells good, doesn't streak and is not at all orange. It adds a subtle glow that takes the edge off if you're missing your Summer tan.

I'd love to know what hero products are seeing you through this Autumn.

Thanks so much for reading

Nip + Fab

Nip + Fab. Does exactly what it’s brand name suggests. Nips you in, makes you feel fabulous. I know, because I’ve now been using Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix and Dark Circle Fix for the past six weeks and I can really tell the difference in my usually sucky skin. I almost wish I had taken before and after photos so I could see the difference more clearly, but lets face it, nobody needs to see my naked face.

The Dark Circle Fix is a God send. I’ve been getting up for work at 5.30am, a very unforgiving time for eyes, and no amount of coffee has been helping me. Cue, Nip + Fab Dark Circle Fix. It goes on beautifully and tightens everything up just enough for me to feel human.

The Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix serum is once of the lightest, most satisfying serums I have ever used. I started to use it every morning and sometimes in the evening if my face felt a little dry after cleansing, but my skin is super sensitive and it didn't like that, cue break-outs! So I now apply every other day and it is wonderful. It sits well under make-up and leaves my skin feeling well looked after!

Shop Nip + Fab

I’m dying to try more Nip + Fab in the future and I’d love to know if you have any recommendations for me!

Thank you so much for reading...it's almost Friday!

I can't shake this feeling

Images c/o Pintrest
Congratulations, you survived Monday. The gruelling grind of a Monday is something we all battle with on a weekly basis, if you hate your job, that is. I don't usually write about 'feelings' on my blog because I am sure that every one of you has or has had problems at some point in your life so you don't necessarily want to read about mine! But here it goes.
I don't know if you know, but I am a Physiotherapist and work within the NHS. Last week was rotation week, the week where once every six months, we have the rug pulled from underneath us and are shipped onto another area of Physiotherapy. Well, to say things have deteriorated somewhat is putting it lightly. I am working in a brand new area, of which I don't know much about, and my patients are very poorly, and I'm finding it all pretty tough. I have such a happy life, I enjoy every aspect of it and really cherish my time spent with family and friends. However, this last week has really brought me down lower than I've ever felt making my time away from work full up with worry about work. Most of you will have experienced some level of anxiety, whether it's right before an exam or just in general, you're a little bit jittery, so you will know the symptoms:
Knots in your stomach
Too nauseous to eat
It feels like a baby elephant is sitting on your chest
You cry (a lot)
You can't sleep
and then crash, bang, wallop, you're having a full on anxiety attack. This is what happens when you are struggling to put 'mind over matter'.
No matter how many people tell me 'it's only six months' the very thought of having to spend my time working on this ward is making me want to vomit. You might think that this sounds pretty dramatic, but it's real and relative for me. I love being a Physiotherapist and I'm trying my hardest to battle through.

*Tips and tricks for anxiety that I've picked up along the way-
Chamomile tea- Honestly, as unpleasant as it is to begin with, I can promise you have it will help to calm you down.
Positive thoughts- Having something to look forward to after work is what helps me during my day, lately it's been coming home to David, getting out of my uniform and into something I feel like myself in and heading out for a mid week drink.
Talk about it- Here I am rambling on about my daft thoughts and it really does help. You'll also find that you are absolutely NOT alone.
Chill the hell out- Have the longest, loveliest soak with a book in the bath and make sure you fill it with lovely smelling bubbles too.
Exercise- I wouldn't be half as crazy as I feel at the moment if I could find the energy to go to the gym for a little session to blow off some steam. It's always helped me in the past.
Cut out the 3 C's- Chocolate, Caffeine & Crap. These things will keep you on edge, so ditch them all and try to replace them with nuts and seeds.

Sorry for the rambling and I hope someone somewhere might find these tips useful. Please do comment if you've been affected or are affected by anxiety and I will reply :)

Better Skin with Magnitone Luicd

The lovely team at Magnitone kindly sent me the new Magnitone Lucid Fashion Series to try out. This little gadget promises a brighter, fresher and more healthier complexion within 7 days, and I completely agree. It uses Active Electromagnetic technology to exfoliate and deep cleanse your skin. My skin has been on a complete mission to make my life hell recently, and whilst the Magnitone didn't completely banish all of my spots, it certainly has helped. This little bundle of fun even comes with a wireless charger so it's super easy to throw in your bag on a weekend away. I'd really recommend using the Magnitone Lucid if you don't have much time to deal with your skin and are looking for fast results.

You can buy your own HERE

Good luck with healthy, happy skin!

The Bathory

Now I don't know about you, but I enjoy nothing more than a good bath. I've not always been a bather though, becasue I go at 100mph I've always felt baths were a waste of my time. Then I met David, my other half of now 6 years, who is so laid back, chilled, 'manyana' and baths every single night for at least 30 minutes, and he has changed my non-bathing habits completely. The wonderful team at The Bathory HQ sent me these incredible bathing salts that I could invent myself. I'd use these for a luxe little gift, perfect for birthdays.

First: Choose which kind of bath you want, I chose DETOX
Second: Choose one salt mix, I chose PURE EPSOM SALTS
Third: Choose 3 essential oils, I chose CHAMOMILE, LAVENDER & ROSEMARY

Then you're done! I can honestly tell you, I've never had a bath like it and the day I run out will be a sad day indeed.

Must haves

The lovely girls at Pegasus PR were kind enough to send me a gorgeous bundle of products to try. My skin was crying out for some TLC and these two little gems have brought my skin back to life. In my job, I have to wash my hands so many times a day that I struggle to keep my hands moisturised. My face has been a little hormonal of late and super hard to control!
This beautiful body oil is light, smells divine and is one of the best nourishing products I have ever used. Especially on my hands at night! The aromatherapy element to the oil is lovely and relaxing so I always use before bed to help me drop off to sleep.
This bee venom Manuka Doctor face mask is absolutely incredible. I've been using it twice per week and my skin feels a million miles from where it was 4 weeks ago. I have combination skin and this mask helps to balance and keep pesky spots at bay. I'd really recommend this to anyone who needs to give their skin a good overhaul! You can pick it up in the larger Boots stores and it seems to last a good while as its a light paste and not a cream.

I hope this has helped some of you out!

Thank you so much for reading.
